Internet Addiction among the Youth

These days young people rely so much on the use of computers, cell phones, and ipads to do most of their daily activities. They are constantly bombarded by sexual images on television, movies, and advertisements.

Since most Internet sites have such loose restrictions on accessing pornography, young people are being exposed to adult sexual material at a much earlier age, at a time when they are still developing physically and emotionally, making them susceptible to online sexual predators and escalating their sexual behaviors, such as "sexting," the act of sharing nude or partially nude photos via cell phone text message. According to a survey, by the National Campaign to Support Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, roughly 20 percent of teens admit to participating in sexting.  If you want to read more about sexting among the youth, read the following CNN article by clicking here
